16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.-- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Waterview provides classes for all age groups, and the classes provide not only religious education but often fellowship and support.

Weekly Class Schedule

Unless specifically noted, the youth meet in the north part of the building, while the adults meet in the south.

Sunday morning classes are divided with the youth all studying the same topics but with varying degree of depth. The adults likewise all study the same topic but seek to apply it in unique ways depending on their common life position. Adult Sunday evening and Wednesday classes are topical in nature, and the students can choose their class of choice. Current topics, classrooms and teachers are listed below.

Moments on the Mount

Few passages of scripture are as memorable as the Sermon on the Mount as recorded in Matthew 5-7. From it we get the story of the wise and foolish builders, the light of the world, and the salt of the earth. It has inhabited our language. The question is “has it inhabited our lives?” In this study, John Orr will explore the meanings of some of the most well-known verses in all the Bible and how they apply to our lives.

Four Hundred Years of Silence
When Malachi closes, and we turn a page, we turn through 400 years of God’s silence. While the Bible doesn’t record God’s voice, much of what was happening is the backdrop for understanding the New Testament. In this period we find the rise of the Pharisees and Sadducees, the translation of the OT into Greek (the source for many NT quotations), and the rise of the Roman empire. This study will provide fascinating details to make the understanding of Jesus and his ministry clearer.

God's Dictums for Society
Some things are “carved in stone.” One of the most important lists is the Ten Commandments. While most know a few, they reveal God’s mind for what he considers the bedrock values any person and society must have. Do we have to follow the Ten Commandments today or are they outmoded? This class will explore these issues.
